NOTICE If an attorney or litigant has concerns specific to the First District and their determination of the need for parenting classes and/or co-parenting classes (in-person or online), they have an opportunity to bring that concern to their judge, who makes the final determination in the form of a Court order. Any request to deviate from the Court's order with respect to cases in Family Court Services would need to be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please contact the Family Court Services within the First District (Santa Fe County, Rio Arriba County, Los Alamos County) for parenting program approval prior to taking any online parent education class..

Information Session on Children and Separation (ISCS)

Parents with minor children who file a divorce, custody, visitation, or paternity case or reopen a case on custody and/or visitation issues specific to the First Judicial District court of New Mexico, are directed to go to an ISCS. This class reviews the needs of children when parents reside in separate households and how to avoid conflict moving forward. This program is typically offered the first Wednesday of every month.
